Icarus 2024
Icarus emerges from my fascination with the interplay between advanced technology and primal elements, exploring the delicate balance between human ambition and its limitations. This series mirrors the ancient myth of Icarus in a contemporary context, harnessing the power of large language models to generate ASCII art, which is then etched onto handmade paper using laser technology. The process creates a visual dialogue between the artifical and the tactile, reflecting our current technological moment. In Icarus, I seek to capture the tension between aspiration and limitation. It is an exploration of boundaries—those we push against, those we create, and those that remain tantalizingly just beyond our grasp, inviting viewers to contemplate the unseen complexities behind seemingly simple outputs.
